Cyber Safety with Arc Residents

Cyber Safety presenters, staff and resident

The Arc, Ocean County Chapter in partnership with the Ocean County Prosecutors Office hosted a Cyber Safety Training in Lakewood for residents with disabilities this month.

The informative and relatable presentation by Agent Mike Colwell and Kelsey Hoban focused on safety and trust on social media, dating sites, and virtual games to protect yourself from online predators. Tips like only chat with people you know in real life, never share your personal information, be leery of "too good to be true" scams, don't send inappropriate photos, and always know you can talk to a friend, family or staff member if you're unsure.

Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions of the experts and share common experiences of Cyber Safety concerns in their personal lives. It was an extremely beneficial presentation for the people with disabilities we support and we are grateful to the Ocean County Prosecutors Office for joining us at The Arc.
