The Arc, Ocean County Chapter is home to many extraordinary athletes, and our Wave Riders Track and Field team are no exception! The team was victorious winning 28 total medals at the Special Olympics Summer Games that were held from June 5th to June 7th at TCNJ!
12 Gold, 10 Silver, and 6 Bronze, the athletes excelled at many of the events including walking, running, wheelchair races, jumping, and throwing. The team had fun with a constant smile on their faces, gaining confidence and skills all season long!
Twelve of the team members experienced an exciting, extra special weekend away in the Special Olympics village on TCNJ campus, where they lived together in the townhouses with supervision, had their meals in the dining hall, and attended a Trenton Thunder baseball game.
Congratulations to the Wave Riders team, Coach Monica, the Assistant Coaches, and volunteers for making this quest for Gold at #ArcOcean a reality!
