Family Support provides respite and community-based supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families who reside in Ocean County.

Self-Hired Respite gives families the flexibility to choose a respite worker they know and trust, while receiving support based on the individual’s authorized service plan.
Self-Hired Respite and Community Based Supports
Examples include support attending events or classes, assistance with daily living skills, help with menu ordering and making purchases, support in learning basic skills and guidance with travel training. Families are reimbursed as the Department of Children and Families contract allows.

Temporary care that provides relief for permanent care givers.
Respite Care
Respite Care can be offered for a few hours, a weekend or overnight. The Arc screens and trains respite providers so families can utilize this program knowing their family member is properly cared for. Families are reimbursed as the Department of Children and Families contract allows.

The after-school program provides supports after school while giving opportunities for socialization, recreation, and skill development.
After School and Adult Drop Off Program
For students with intellectual and developmental disabilities ages 12 and above. Monday through Friday 2:30pm-5:30pm in Lakewood. Families are reimbursed as the Department of Children and Families contract allows.
