The five Adult Training Centers presented interesting facts on New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Georgia, and North Carolina and created healthy and nutritious side dishes for the 4th of July Cook-Out Competition.
Participants researched their state, designed fact boards, and presented to the group. They all did amazing confidently public speaking about their topics. Congrats to Rhode Island presented by North Bay for winning the Golden Eagle in the presentation award category. The ocean seashell clinched the win for the judges.
Next, judges moved on to tasting the side dishes which included a seafood pasta salad for Rhode Island, peach salsa for Georgia, three bean salad for Pennsylvania, sweet potato biscuit for North Carolina, and lastly the winning dish of the Golden Tong, a chicken Waldorf salad made by ATCLA.
All of the attendees enjoyed a delicious plate with a sample of all the sides, plus a cheeseburger and watermelon slice for lunch. It was a fun and informative day for our nation's 250th celebration!
