The Arc, Ocean County Chapter, is excited to announce the return of our 24th Annual Step Up for The Arc Walk on Saturday, May 9th, at ShoreTown Ballpark, home of the Jersey Shore BlueClaws in Lakewood.
This beloved community event brings together all of our residential and vocational programs, plus families, friends, and community supporters for a day of fun, inclusion, and meaningful impact, helping to raise funds and awareness for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Ocean County.
The day kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with registration and the start of our Family Fun activities throughout the concourse. From arts and crafts and carnival games and prizes, to face painting and yoga, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re attending with family, friends, or coworkers, the event is designed to be welcoming, accessible, and fun for all ages and abilities.
At 11:00 a.m., watch us on the jumbotron for our Celebration Ceremony, featuring a group warm-up, special guest speakers, and the National Anthem. Immediately following the ceremony, participants will head to the starting line for our 1-mile walk, beginning around 11:30 a.m. at the balloon arch by first base. The route is fully accessible, with each lap around the concourse measuring one-third of a mile.
After crossing the finish line, the celebration continues with our After-Party at 12:00 p.m., complete with lunch catered by Jersey Mike's Subs. Water, fruit, granola bars, and other light snacks will be available throughout the event to keep everyone energized.
Registration is free, and while advance online registration is strongly encouraged for a quick and easy check-in, same-day registration will be available starting at 10:00 a.m. at the third base entrance. Free, accessible parking is also available on-site, and the event will take place rain or shine, so come prepared for the appropriate weather!
Participants who raise or donate $50 or more are eligible to receive a commemorative event t-shirt as a thank-you for their support, while supplies last.
More than just a walk, Step Up for The Arc is a powerful fundraiser that directly benefits the individuals we support. Funds raised help purchase wish list items such as art supplies, outdoor furniture, and community outings, helping to enhance daily life across our programs.
