Building Connections Assemblyman Avi Schnall and ACCSES NJ

Employment Center staff and participants pose with Assemblyman Avi Schnall

The Arc, Ocean County Chapter Employment Center recently welcomed Assemblyman Avi Schnall of the 30th Legislative District and Jacob Caplan from ACCSES New Jersey for a special meet and greet to highlight the impact of our vocational services.

This meeting was an important opportunity to showcase how The Arc helps individuals with disabilities develop skills, build confidence, and pursue meaningful employment in the community.

During the visit, Jacob Caplan from ACCSES New Jersey provided an in-depth explanation of how ACCESS assists our Employment Center operate as a sheltered workshop, supporting individuals as they strengthen their work readiness skills.

He emphasized how these programs open doors to competitive, integrated employment opportunities in the community, helping empower individuals with disabilities to achieve greater independence and success.

Assemblyman Avi Schnall engaged with staff and participants by asking thoughtful and informative questions, gaining a better understanding of how The Arc supports his Lakewood constituents and the broader community.

His interest in the services we provide highlighted his commitment to ensuring individuals with disabilities have the resources and legislative support they need to thrive.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share our mission and impact with both Jacob Caplan and Assemblyman Schnall.

By working together with community partners and legislators, The Arc, Ocean County Chapter will continue to advocate for inclusive employment opportunities and brighter futures for the individuals we serve.
