Volcanoes and Tornadoes and Rainbows, Oh My!

The Arc, Ocean County Chapter is always adding unique educational aspects to all of our programs.

This means we try to review and teach subjects such as reading and writing, basic math skills and even science.

After watching documentaries and listening to staff read scientific articles, our residents constructed science experiments to help them visualize what they just learned.

Using paper mache, baking powder and vinegar, residents formed a volcano that actually erupted. Glass jars filled with water and glitter created spinning tornadoes in a bottle. And Skittles candy placed around a plate of water demonstrated how colors combine to make a rainbow.

Who ever said science can't be both educational and FUN?
