Fun, Fitness, and Friendship: August Recreation at Arc Ocean

August Recreation

This August, The Arc, Ocean County Chapter is turning up the energy with an exciting lineup of recreation activities for individuals with disabilities to stay active, build skills, and have fun all month long!

Tuesdays and Wednesdays feature our Volleyball and Pickleball Skills & Play sessions, where participants are encouraged to learn and improve their fundamental skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Thursdays bring the heat with our Strength and Conditioning Adaptive Fitness Class, combining cardio and strength training in a way that’s both engaging and accessible.

For those looking for weekend adventures, we’ve got you covered with Northern Saturday Rec, happening every Saturday in August (8/2, 8/9, 8/16, and 8/23). These Saturdays start with in-house favorites like crafts, bingo, and games, followed by local outings to parks, fairs, and other community events that bring everyone together.

Our SMILES Trips this month are full of musical magic! On Sunday, August 3rd, we’ll see Legally Blonde: The Musical, a heartwarming, high-energy performance that reminds us all to stay true to ourselves. Then on Saturday, August 23rd, we’ll enjoy the beloved story of The Little Mermaid, followed by a sweet treat at Brain Freeze Ice Cream Parlor.

Rounding out the month is our Northern Friday Night Dance on August 22nd, with an "Under the Sea!" theme. Attendees can dance the night away with friends while enjoying themed music, decorations, and a special treat to top it all off.

Our August recreation activities are shaping up to be full of movement, music, and memories here at The Arc Ocean. Whether you’re into sports, the arts, or social fun, there’s something for everyone to dive into this summer!
